Helping the Community after Hurricane Irene

Hurricane Irene was a large and powerful hurricane that left extensive flood and wind damage along its path through the Caribbean, the East Coast of the United States and as far north as Atlantic Canada. Our area, like all areas in Irene's path, was not spared from its effects.  Many local towns struggled through severe flooding, long power outages and extensive property damage.

With these challenges in mind, our congregation, with the support of the Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort Inc. were able to provide food and essential clean materials to hundreds of local residents of Middlesex. We hope and pray that such a tragic event does not come our way again.  However, if it does happen again, with God's help, we will be ready.

We'd like to also thank the members of the Office of Emergency Management, local Engine 22, the Rescue Squad and the staff of Middlesex township for helping us prepare and organize.

Working in the Mission Fields

Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. - James 1:27 (NLT)

God blesses those who are merciful, for they will be shown mercy. God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God. God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God. – Matthew 5:7-9 (NLT)

Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith. – Galatians 6:8-10 (NLT)

Helping the community is one of the focus areas of our congregation. There are so many various needs in our area and we place an emphasis on doing what we can to help both locally and globally.

This year our congregation is supporting the following missions:
